3 Wheeler Buggies

A three-wheeled buggy is perfect for off-road terrain and offers the most comfortable ride for infants. They can also be easier to move and push than a four-wheel buggy especially those with fabric sling seats or modular seats that are set snugly in the frame, delivering the most efficient geometry and weight distribution.

Stability

A three-wheeled buggy offers excellent stability, which is why it's an ideal option for off-road walking (especially with an all terrain or off-road-style seat). They often feature oversized front wheels that can deal well with kerbs and bumps as well as rough terrain. Some models even come with a lockable front wheel for extra stability on uneven terrain.

It is important to keep in mind that 3-wheel buggies have a lower center of gravity than 4-wheeled versions and, therefore, could fall more easily. If you're seeking a buggy that can handle the tough terrain, then you'll need one with large wheels. These are designed to handle cobbles, grass and dirt tracks easily and still provide smooth riding. They are also great for jogging, as they have a suspension built-in and are easy enough to climb up and down kerbs. The downside is that they are quite heavy to push.

The Mountain Buggy Urban Glide 2 is the most suitable pushchair 3 wheels wheel buggy you can use on rough terrain (pictured above). This 3-wheeler is highly maneuverable because it has 16 rear wheels and the front wheel can be locked. It has air-filled tyres which require pumping regularly. It can be used by children up until the age of three. MFM reviewer Kath says that her toddler loved the seat shape and she found it easy to drive with her 3 wheeler pushchair off road-year-old in the seat.

Another option that is great is the Baby Jogger Versa GT, with a movable handlebar as well as a hood that is of high-quality with 50+ UV protection. It's also easy to get up and down kerbs and fit into small car boot. It can be used as a stroller and an infant carrycot or toddlers.

Fabric sling seats sit snugly inside the buggie's frame, as opposed to over it like modular seats. This design has a lower centre-of-gravity, which is the ideal height. It is simpler to push and is lighter to kerb-pop (you cannot underestimate how many times you'll need to do this as a new parent!).

Seating

The capacity for seating of 3 wheel stroller with infant car seat wheelers is impressive, and there are a number of different choices to choose from. It is important to note that the seats don't recline fully however, they can be lowered to the lowest level which will give your child plenty of headroom and room to move around.

This provides a lower center of gravity as well as a perfect weight distribution. This makes it easier to push, especially over bumpy terrain and curbs. MFM reviewer Kath liked the way this style of seat handled challenges.

Alongside a huge shopping basket, this type of buggy usually has quite useful features, such as an extended 50+ UV hood, a simple brake pedal and some game-changing visibility lights that come up from the handlebars and can be placed directly in front of the occupants to improve their safety when they are tackling difficult terrain.

Storage

The 3-wheeled frame makes the buggy more stable and stable to push with one hand and is also ideal for handling terrain that is difficult to navigate. The shopping basket is smaller than a four-wheeler.

The MFM reviewers noted that the 3 wheel Push chair-wheeler frame didn't pass through their doors at home or car boot. If you're worried about space, be sure to check out the dimensions when the buggy is folded before purchasing.

Find a 3-wheeler that has 2 (or 3!) seats. seats once your family grows - these are the most efficient of both and can help you to save money in the future. The iCandy Strawberry Sport is one of the most well-known. It can be used from day dot as a single buggy, and later transformed into twin buggies when your baby begins walking.

Tyres

These tyres absorb bumps and uneven surfaces to make your child's ride more enjoyable. They are commonly included on pushchairs such as the Phil and Ted's Sport, which MFM reviewer Kath said was "an outstanding ride for her toddler". She also noted that the grippy tyres make it easy to tackle cobbles and kerbs.

These tyres can be difficult to maintain and will require air pressure regularly topped up. They are also more vulnerable to punctures than foam tyres. So you'll need to ensure that you have repair kits with spare tubes and a pump on hand when you are traveling with your buggy.

PU tyres can be used on pushchairs because they are less expensive than tyres filled with air, but they are equally robust. You can recognise PU tires by their smooth appearance and soft texture. They also slide over smooth and tidy surfaces.

If you run your hand over the tyres you can tell if they're rubber or PU. If it feels like it's sliding, then it is a rubber or PU. You can also test if your buggy is fitted with PU tyres sliding them on a flat, clean surface. They should roll easily and fit comfortably into wheel hubs.

Foam tyres can handle the rough terrain that comes with high-performance buggies. The drawback is that the foam could expand and cause your buggy to feel less stable, since it loses its springy nature. The tyres can also be noisy because they generate a lot noise when you turn and drive around town.
