Three Wheeled Buggies

Three-wheeled buggies are great for walking around the neighborhood or for jogging. Their compact design allows them to be maneuvered easily, even in tight spaces.

Sturdy frame

The latest figures have been released revealing that the three-wheeled buggie which was a symbol of the decade of more money than sanity is on the verge of disappearing. Four-wheelers have replaced them, which are more versatile and easy to drive, while also looking stylish.

MFM reviewer Kath tried the buggy out with an infant as well as a child who was 3 years old and found it extremely durable. It handled cobbles, grass and rough pavements, as well as dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said that "it is sturdy to push and very solid when traversing difficult terrain. The tyres, that are inflatable and require to be pumped regularly and have a suspension built-in. This was extremely comfortable for my children.

Another thing to consider is the seat size and shape. It should be large enough to accommodate your child's comfort and you will also want it to be able to recline so that they can lie flat. Some three-wheel buggies have the option of lying flat that allows your child to lie flat and face you, while other buggies only permit a parent-facing option.

They also come with a suspension system that according to her "smoothes out bumps very effectively".

The downside of having bigger wheels is that they can make buggies quite large and can struggle to fit through narrow spaces. This is an issue especially if you're using it to an exercise bike or to be able to get through doorways that are narrow when you're out and about. Luckily, most models have small folding options that let you take off the front wheels to make compact storage.

Easy to maneuver

One of the main benefits to a three-wheeled buggy is that it can be much more maneuverable particularly with a child in tow. The way they are constructed means that the front wheels rotate at a quick pace and are extremely easy to maneuver, making them ideal for difficult terrain such as parks, cobbles or bumpy pavements, as well as dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tested a 3 wheeler with her infant and toddler and said: "The Terrain was a delight to maneuver on the ground with the swivel rear wheel being especially helpful. I was also awed by the way it handled kerbs when using the hand-operated break. It was very stable in the downhills or on a rough terrain."

The only downside to this great maneuverability, is that the larger wheels of the 3 wheel buggy can sometimes make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something you need to keep in mind when you live in one of the cities. If this is the case then a 4-wheeled buggy could be the better option for you.
